Payroll Manager Opportunity - Fast-Growing Business
Are you an experienced payroll professional looking to take ownership of a high-volume payroll function and be part of a growing, dynamic business?
We are seeking a Payroll Manager to join a fast-expanding organisation, managing weekly and monthly payroll for ~750 employees (£30m per annum). This is a newly created role within the finance team, offering scope to shape the payroll function and get involved in HR support tasks over time.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)
25 days annual leave + bank holidays
Office-based (with some flexibility for the right candidate)

About the role:
Manage end-to-end payroll for ~750 employees across 10 operational depots
Payroll is processed via Staffology- much of the process is standardised and automated
Weekly payroll for ~650 employees (primarily drivers & engineers) and monthly payroll for ~100 office staff
Pension administration via Nest
Manage payroll queries and liaise with stakeholders
Support process improvement and integration projects
Over time, contribute to HR support and wider finance activities
Candidate profile:
Experienced in high-volume payroll, ideally including weekly and hourly-paid employees
Confident managing payroll queries and stakeholder relationships
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Able to work independently, take ownership, and adapt in a growing business
Bonus: experience in transport, logistics, operational environments, payroll system implementation, or HR support
