Your new role
Site Manager required to oversee the conversion of an existing building into high quality residential flats with a ground floor commercial unit on the outskirts of Cambridge. This role suits someone confident managing refurbishment and structural alteration works, coordinating multiple trades, and maintaining tight control over programme, quality, and safety on a live site.
Key Responsibilities:
*Lead day to day site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
*Manage and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and suppliers, ensuring smooth sequencing of works.
*Oversee all aspects of the building conversion, including demolition, structural alterations, M&E installation, internal fit out, and external works.
*Maintain strict compliance with health and safety regulations, carrying out site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular inspections.
*Monitor workmanship and quality standards, resolving issues promptly and escalating where required.
*Track progress against programme, identify delays or risks early, and implement corrective actions.
*Manage site logistics, deliveries, waste removal, and material storage within a constrained environment.
*Keep accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress photos, permits, and H&S documentation.
*Ensure the commercial unit and residential elements are delivered to the required finish and ready for handover.


What you’ll need to succeed
*Proven experience managing refurbishment or conversion projects.
*Strong understanding of construction sequencing, structural works, and fit out processes.
*Excellent communication, leadership, and problem solving skills.
*SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid
