Housing & Public Protection Business Support Manager
Maidenhead | Hybrid Working
Full-time, Monday–Friday | Immediate Start
Temp Assignment until at least May
£159.62 per day (PAYE) | £400 Ltd/Umbrella

Essential Requirements
Degree educated in a relevant field
Local Authority experience (must-have )
Strong leadership, analytical and project delivery skills
Ability to operate confidently at management level
What You’ll Be Doing
You will lead and manage the Housing & Public Protection Business Support Team, including service analysts and the housing complaints/review function. Your work will directly support the Assistant Director and senior leadership team — shaping improvements, driving transformation, and ensuring top-tier service delivery.
Your key responsibilities include:
Managing business support functions, including budget oversight
Leading key technology and ICT development projects
Managing governance of officer delegations (Part 5 of the Constitution)
Overseeing data monitoring, needs assessments, performance dashboards
Managing FOIs, member enquiries, complaints
Leading statutory reviews and appeals under housing legislation
Supporting and overseeing legal appeals
Identifying training and improvement opportunities
Developing operational procedures, policies and strategies
Managing contracts in line with Part 8A of the Council Constitution
Overseeing the FHIL Ltd/consortium project
Deputising for the Assistant Director when required
