Job Description:
Senior Residential Care Officer
*Annual Salary: £35,438 - £39,319 (inclusive of allowances)
*Location: Doncaster
*Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time (37 hours) & Part-Time (18.5 hours)
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Care Officer to join our team. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people within our residential services. If you have a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young individuals and possess the necessary qualifications, we would love to hear from you.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Work under the supervision of the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, taking on supervisory duties and a shift leader role.
*Contribute to the staff development and training within the team.
*Provide a warm, caring, and enabling environment that meets the emotional, social, and physical needs of the children.
*Play an active role in the senior team, working alongside the manager and deputy to ensure the effective running of the residential service.
*Advocate for the children and demonstrate a "good parent" role, building positive relationships and providing stability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Must be qualified with a Level 3 TQUK Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
*At least 12 months experience in a residential children’s home.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Flexibility and resilience to work within a rota that includes weekends and unsocial hours.
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
*Willingness to undertake and complete necessary training, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
Benefits:
*Salary includes an all-inclusive allowance of 8.5%.
*South Yorkshire Pension Authority contributions.
*Overtime over 37 hours paid at time and a quarter.
*Additional payment for sleep-in shifts, approximately £2,000 annually.
*Rota includes 2 weekends off out of 4.
*Opportunities for further learning and development, including the possibility to complete the Level 5 TQUK Diploma in Leadership and Management.
