We are partnering with a well established organisation in Milton Keynes seeking a Temporary General Ledger Assistant to support their finance function during a particularly busy period. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and gain valuable exposure within a respected organisation.
Your new role
As the General Ledger Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Responsibilities will include:
*Assisting with monthly general ledger postings and reconciliations
*Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
*Processing expenses, national statistics and one bill process
*Preparing journals including accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications
*Investigating discrepancies and resolving ledger issues in a timely manner
*Assisting with audit queries and providing supporting information
*Working closely with the wider finance team to improve processes
What you’ll need to succeed
*Previous experience in a similar finance or general ledger role
*Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
*High attention to detail with a methodical approach
*Good Excel skills (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs beneficial)
*Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
*A proactive attitude and willingness to support the team where needed

*Monday to Friday - 37.50 hours per week
*3-6 Month Position
