Job Description:
School Attendance Officer - Haringey (Ongoing Temporary Role)Hours: 8:00am - 4:15pm, Monday to Friday
Start: ASAP
Location: Haringey, North London
Contract Type: Ongoing Temporary
Key Responsibilities
*Monitor and track daily student attendance and punctuality.
*Use SIMS (School Information Management System) to record, update, and analyse attendance data.
*Follow up on unexplained absences through calls, emails, and letters to parents/carers.
*Produce attendance reports for senior leadership and pastoral teams.
*Work closely with safeguarding and pastoral staff to identify attendance concerns early.
*Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with GDPR requirements.
*Support the wider admin team when needed.
Requirements
*Previous experience in a similar school-based attendance role (essential).
*Strong working knowledge of SIMS for attendance management.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to work in a confidential, fast-paced school environment.
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
*Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
*Availability to work full-time, 8:00am-4:15pm.
