Service: SEND Reviewing Team
Derbyshire County Council is seeking an experienced Interim Senior SEND Officer to manage a student caseload of approximately 200-250 students while the permanent postholder is recruited. This key role supports children and young people with SEND across complex and statutory caseloads, including EOTISC, NEET, and Year 11 Phase Transfers.
Key Responsibilities*Manage a large and complex SEND caseload, ensuring statutory compliance
*Oversee Annual Reviews, Phase Transfers, and EHCP amendments
*Provide oversight for complex cases (EOTISC, NEET, vulnerable groups)
*Liaise with students, families, educational settings, and multi-agency professionals
*Ensure high-quality, person-centred EHCPs are maintained and reviewed in line with statutory guidance
*Contribute to safeguarding and multi-agency collaboration
*Maintain accurate records and data for performance monitoring and statutory reporting
Essential Requirements*Proven experience in a senior SEND role or EHCP coordination
*Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, Code of Practice, and statutory guidance
*Experience managing large caseloads with complex cases
*Excellent communication skills with students, families, and professionals
*Confident in multi-agency working and problem-solving
*Enhanced DBS check with Child and Adult Barred List required
