Mechanical Assembler
*Location: Buntingford, Hertfordshire
*Rate Guide: £13.00 - £16.00 per hour, depending on experience
*Temp to Perm
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join a busy production team. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering a 40-hour working week. Working hours are 7.30 AM to 4.00 PM.
Key responsibilities:
*Accurately assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies to specification.
*Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions and bills of materials.
*Use hand tools, power tools and basic measuring equipment.
*Carry out quality checks and ensure components meet tolerance and finish requirements.
*Identify and report non-conformances and work with the team to implement corrective actions.
*Maintain accurate assembly records and complete paperwork as required.
*Follow health & safety procedures and maintain an orderly work area.
Requirements:
*Previous experience as a mechanical assembler or in a similar manufacturing/assembly role.
*Strong mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity.
*Ability to read basic engineering drawings and follow written instructions.
*Reliable, punctual and able to work the specified hours (7.30 AM to 4.00 PM), 40 hour week.
*Comfortable standing for prolonged periods and performing light to moderate lifting.
*Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
