Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Coventry
Salary: £40,000–£70,000 DOE
Type: Permanent, office-based
We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with strong technical fundamentals and a solid understanding of BS 7671. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering team working across full project lifecycle delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Perform cable sizing and routing calculations in compliance with BS 7671.
*Produce accurate electrical designs in AutoCAD (SLDs, GAs, wiring diagrams).
*Prepare and update FAT/SAT documentation, Control Philosophy, URS, and manuals.
*Support commissioning activities, including red pen updates to schematics.
What We’re Looking For
*Strong understanding of BS 7671 (essential).
*Ability to carry out manual electrical calculations (fault current, voltage drop, load calcs).
*Electrical AutoCAD experience.
*Ideally familiar with AMTECH/Trimble/ProDesign — training provided if you can do the manual calculations.
