Job Description:
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a highly engaging and experienced Governor / Educational Mentor to support the development of an 8½-year-old bilingual (Russian/English) boy within a well-established home education environment. Based in Oxshott, this is a full-time, live-out role for a professional who can take full responsibility for the child’s academic direction, daily structure, and personal development.

The family are seeking a modern, energetic and charismatic educator who can make learning dynamic, stimulating, and enjoyable. The successful candidate will oversee core academic subjects while ensuring the wider educational programme remains structured, challenging, and ahead of age expectations. This position goes beyond traditional tutoring, requiring a mentor who can inspire curiosity, encourage independent thinking, and introduce creative, real-world learning experiences.

Alongside academic leadership, the role involves providing strong mentorship and positive role modelling, supporting the child’s confidence, discipline, manners, and social awareness. The Governor will also organise and coordinate afternoon activities, arrange a varied extracurricular schedule, and accompany the child to activities such as gymnastics and other sports. A full UK driving licence is therefore essential. The role also requires regular liaison with subject tutors, sports coaches, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded programme.

The family travel approximately four to six times per year, and the Governor will be expected to accompany them, incorporating educational value into travel and maintaining continuity in learning. Working three or four days per week, 9:00am–5:00pm.
