Group Accountant
Location: London (Hybrid, 2 to 3 days in office)
Contract: 6 Month Contract (View to Extend or Convert Permanent)
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000
A high-growth, PE-backed global technology business is seeking a technically strong Group Accountant to join its finance team, initially on a 6 month contract basis but presents a good opportunity to further extend or convert to a permanent contract.
This role offers outstanding exposure to Group-level reporting, consolidations, and technical accounting within a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Group Accountant will play a key role in supporting Group reporting, financial analysis, and technical accounting matters.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparation of Group consolidations and supporting schedules
• Supporting the month-end close and Group reporting cycle
• Preparing IFRS-compliant financial statements
• Performing foreign exchange (FX) calculations and analysis
• Preparing R&D calculations and associated reporting support
• Drafting technical accounting assessments and position papers
• Supporting statutory reporting and audit deliverables
• Partnering with local entities to ensure reporting accuracy
• Providing technical accounting support across the business
• Driving process improvements and systems efficiencies
• Heavy use of Excel for analysis and modelling
Candidate Profile
• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
• 2 to 3 years post-qualification experience
• Strong technical accounting skillset
• Audit-trained background preferred
• Solid understanding of IFRS
• Experience preparing financial statements
• Exposure to consolidations desirable
• Advanced Excel skills are essential
• Strong attention to detail and analytical capability
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive, hands-on, and adaptable
