Job Description:
Tradewind Recruitment are excited to be working with a nurturing and dynamic SEMH specialist school in Croydon, who are seeking a compassionate and resilient Primary Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis.
About the SchoolThis welcoming school supports primary-aged children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced challenges in mainstream settings. The school provides a therapeutic, child-centred environment with a strong focus on building emotional regulation, confidence and positive relationships.
Teaching takes place in small classes with excellent support, allowing for highly personalised learning and a holistic approach that blends core curriculum teaching with creative, nurturing and wellbeing-based activities.
The RoleAs an SEMH Primary Teacher, you will:
*Deliver an adapted primary curriculum to meet a wide range of learning needs
*Create a safe, structured and positive classroom environment
*Implement trauma-informed and nurture-based strategies
*Support pupils in developing key social, emotional and self-regulation skills
*Work closely with a dedicated team of support staff and pastoral specialists
*Engage children in creative, therapeutic and outdoor/experiential learning
Requirements*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*Experience in SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision (or a strong interest in this area)
*A nurturing, patient and empathetic approach
*Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
*Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply
