Job Description:
If you are an Accounts Assistant who wants more than routine bookkeeping, this is a rare opportunity to build your career inside the music business, working at the heart of an organisation that exists to protect, support, and properly pay creative talent.
This specialist Music practice has spent nearly three decades advising artists, songwriters, managers, and music businesses, combining technical excellence with a genuine passion for the industry. As the organisation continues to grow, they are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join the Business Services team and play a key role in managing the financial engine behind music careers.
This is a hands-on role where you will work directly with live client finances across the music business. You will be responsible for keeping accounts accurate, cashflow healthy, and operations running smoothly, giving artists and their teams confidence and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end bookkeeping for limited companies, LLPs and sole traders
* Working with Sage Line 50 and Xero
* Bank reconciliations, cash books and day-to-day financial control
* Raising sales invoices and managing outstanding debtors
* Posting purchase invoices and maintaining supplier relationships
* Credit card processing and reconciliations
* Preparing VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital requirements
* Daily oversight of client bank accounts and cashflow
* Setting up and managing approved payments
* Liaising with banks, suppliers and third parties
* Supporting wider projects within the team as required
About You
* 1–2 years’ experience in a Music or Media accountancy practice (essential)
* Strong academic background with top educational grades achieved from secondary level through to degree level, demonstrating consistent dedication, analytical ability, and a commitment to excellence.
* Studying towards ACA / ACCA / CIMA / AAT
* Strong numerical ability and excellent attention to detail
* Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload
* A genuine interest in the music business (essential)
