Elevation Recruitment are currently supporting a well-established business in Gainsborough as they look to appoint an Assistant Accountant on a 2–3 month contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and collaborative finance team in a varied, hands-on role with hybrid working available.
Key Responsibilities
*Assist with accounts preparation, purchase ledger and credit control activities
*Process daily banking and set up customer/vendor accounts on NAV
*Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable
*Enter stock and non-stock invoices in multiple currencies into NAV for payment
*Support credit control activities and assist with customer queries/disputes via phone, email and post
*Assist with the preparation of management accounts
*Prepare regularly scheduled reports
*Provide administrative support including answering and directing calls professionally
*Offer support and cover to the wider finance team as required
*Undertake ad-hoc duties to support the business
About You
*Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Finance role
*Experience supporting with accounts preparation, purchase ledger and credit control
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (NAV experience advantageous)
*Excellent organisational and time management skills
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Able to manage and prioritise your own workload effectively
*Flexible and willing to support across all areas as required
