Job Description:
A great opportunity for a junior design engineer to join an expanding building services based company, specialising in building safety.
Key Responsibilities
*Assist in creating system layout drawings and design documents using CAD software.
*Support senior engineers in producing calculations, schematics, and technical designs.
*Help prepare technical documentation, equipment schedules, and O&M information.
*Undertake site surveys and support feasibility assessments when required.
*Communicate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to resolve basic design queries.
*Ensure all work is accurate, compliant, and delivered to required standards.
*Learn and develop knowledge of fire suppression system design, industry regulations, and best practices.
Skills & Experience Required
*Some experience in M&E, building services, general construction, or related engineering environments.
*Basic to intermediate experience using CAD software (AutoCAD or similar).
*Ability to read or interpret drawings is beneficial.
*Strong willingness to learn technical concepts such as hydraulic systems, compliance standards, and engineering principles.
*Good communication skills and attention to detail.
*Problem-solving mindset with enthusiasm for developing a career in engineering design.
*Understanding of mechanical or electrical building systems.
*Exposure to fire protection systems or building compliance (advantageous but not required).
*Engineering-related qualifications (e.g., BTEC, HNC/HND, or degree).
