As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and production machinery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
*Assemble, install, and align mechanical components and machinery
*Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
*Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production equipment
*Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics
*Replace bearings, seals, gearboxes, motors, and other mechanical components
*Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
*Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
*Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
The ideal Candidate
*Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within a manufacturing or industrial environment
*A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent)
*Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
*Experience working with pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics (desirable)
*The ability to read technical drawings
*A proactive and safety-conscious approach
*Strong teamwork and communication skills
