SANZA Teaching Agency is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a highly regarded secondary SEND school in Harrow, North West London. This is a full-time, long-term SEND Teaching Assistant job starting ASAP, with strong potential to continue into the next academic year.
The Role - SEND Teaching Assistant (Secondary)The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 11 female pupil with complex learning needs, behavioural needs, and epilepsy, including managing and responding to frequent seizures.
This role requires a First Aid trained SEND Teaching Assistant who is calm under pressure, confident supporting medical needs, and experienced in secondary SEND settings.
Key Responsibilities*Deliver 1:1 SEND support in a secondary classroom
*Support emotional regulation and implement positive behaviour strategies
*Manage medical needs, including epilepsy and seizure response
*Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and support staff
*Promote independence, safety and inclusion in a specialist SEND school
The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant*Proven experience in a secondary SEND school or specialist provision
*Experience supporting pupils with complex needs
*Strong behaviour management skills using positive strategies
*Current First Aid qualification (essential)
*Calm, patient, resilient and highly empathetic
*Available immediately for handover
