Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a school setting, supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about mental health and committed to making a positive, long-term impact on young people’s lives.
The Role:*Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
*Support students with emotional regulation and positive coping strategies
*Assist with classroom engagement and behaviour support
*Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
*Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:*Experience supporting children or young people with mental health or SEMH needs
*Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient approach
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills
*Understanding of safeguarding procedures
*Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
Relevant experience may include: education, psychology, youth work, care work, counselling, or mental health support roles.
