ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant with immediate effect for our client based in Bourne, just north of Peterborough.
Assistant Accountant:
Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is part-qualified and looking to develop their skills, contribute to continuous improvement, and play a key role in strengthening our financial processes.
Key responsibilities*Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
*Support balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings
*Maintain accurate financial records with strong attention to detail
*Carry out purchase ledger and sales ledger duties as required
*Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
*Support system improvements and help streamline financial processes
*Provide general support across the finance team as needed
Essential skills & experience*Excellent Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, strong formula knowledge)
*High attention to detail and accuracy
*Part-qualified in AAT / ACCA / CIMA
*Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role
*A proactive mindset and willingness to improve processes and systems
*Strong communication and organisational skills
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
