The Role: Impactful Teaching in Blackpool APAre you a resilient educator who believes that every child deserves a second chance? Our leading Alternative Provision (AP) in Blackpool is seeking a Teacher (Qualified or Unqualified) to join our team.
This is a Temp to Perm position. You will start via a trial period, allowing you to ensure the school is the right fit for you before transitioning onto a permanent contract. You will be teaching small groups of students (KS3/KS4) who have complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and may have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Key Responsibilities*Engaging Delivery: Plan and deliver core or vocational subjects to students who have been excluded from mainstream education.
*Relationship Building: Use a trauma-informed approach to re-engage Blackpool learners and manage classroom dynamics.
*SEMH Specialist: Work alongside the SENCO to deliver specific interventions outlined in EHCP documents.
*Progress Tracking: Monitor and celebrate the small wins that lead to big breakthroughs for our pupils.
What We Are Looking ForWe welcome applications from Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTLS) and Unqualified Teachers with a strong background in youth work, trades, or sports coaching.
*Experience: Previous work in an AP, PRU, or Special School is highly valued.
*Character: You need "Blackpool grit"-resilience, a sense of humor, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
*Specialism: A passion for SEND and an understanding of SEMH triggers.
*Reliability: As a Temp to Perm role, we are looking for someone ready to commit to a long-term career in our school.
