Job Description:
Contract Type: Temporary – 2 Months
Shifts: Full time - 5 days per week, 7am–3pm and 3pm–11pm (rota-based)


About the Role
We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Receptionist to join our client’s team in Cowes, Isle of Wight on a temporary two-month contract. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming experience while ensuring the smooth running of the reception area.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services & Front Desk Operations
*Welcome guests and manage efficient check-in and check-out processes.
*Ensure all guest invoices are accurate and payments follow correct procedures.
*Take hotel and restaurant bookings, recording all details accurately.
*Manage phone calls and ensure messages are delivered promptly.
*Handle guest enquiries and requests, providing friendly and professional support.
Communication & Coordination
*Maintain effective communication with Housekeeping, Restaurant, and Kitchen teams.
*Keep all departments updated on room availability and special requests.
*Provide thorough handovers between shifts and ensure Night Porters receive key information.
Administration & Financial Duties
*Complete daily banking tasks and submit end-of-day reports to management.
*Follow company accounting procedures and balance cash floats accurately.
*Handle administrative tasks related to bookings and guest enquiries.
General Duties
*Assist with bar service when required (pouring drinks, glass cleaning, etc.).
*Keep the reception area tidy, organised, and welcoming.
*Order reception supplies and stationery when needed.
*Follow all Health & Safety and Fire Safety procedures.
*Address guest complaints appropriately and escalate when necessary.
*Carry out additional tasks assigned by senior management to support hotel operations.

*Friendly, approachable, and service-driven
*Strong communication and organisational skills
*Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
*High attention to detail
*Hospitality or receptionist experience (preferred but not essential)
