Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Contract: Ongoing, Full Time (Locum)
Pay Rate: Up to £36 per hour (dependent on experience)
Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the Children and Young People Team in Islington on an ongoing full-time locum basis. This rewarding role offers the chance to support children and young people with diverse needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with a significant proportion of the caseload involving autistic children and young people.
Working within a multidisciplinary mainstream therapy team, you will deliver specialised occupational therapy interventions aimed at improving participation, independence and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage and prioritise a diverse paediatric caseload, delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions
*Support children and young people with autism and additional educational needs through tailored therapeutic strategies
*Contribute to effective case management and ongoing care planning
*Work collaboratively within an integrated multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic interventions
*Participate in clinical governance activities including audits, service development and quality improvement initiatives
*Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards
Person Specification
Essential
*HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
*Experience working with children and young people within community or educational settings
*Knowledge of EHCP processes and paediatric therapy approaches
*Strong communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills
*Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
*Experience supporting autistic children and young people
*Full UK driving licence to support community-based visits
