Job Description:
Buyer
Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a thriving manufacturing company based in Basingstoke due to business expansion. The successful candidate will be working alongside the Senior Buyer with opportunity to develop within this position.
Responsibilities as a Buyer:
*Responsible for managing critical purchasing activities
*Researching and identifying potential suppliers across relevant categories
*Comparing and evaluating supplier quotation to ensure best value and suitability
*Negotiating commercial terms, pricing and supply agreements
*Tracking purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services
*Prepare cost analysis and procurement reports
*Monitoring stock levels and placing orders based on ERP driven demand
Requirements:
*Proven purchasing experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
*Strong understanding of sourcing, vendor management and purchase process
*Ability to understand technical drawings
*Confident MS Office user
*Experience with ERP/MRP software such as Sage or SAP
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
The Buyer Role:
*Starting salary of £33,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
*Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
*22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
*Pension Scheme, Medical Cashplan
