Assistant Accountant, £35,000-£40,000, Coventry, Permanent, Hybrid

Greenwell Gleeson are working exclusively with a fast growing business based in Coventry to recruit an Assistant Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join that offers genuine growth and development.

Responsibilities

· Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across all company accounts
· Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
· Maintain accurate financial records using Xero
· Contribute to preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports, in collaboration with external accountants
· Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts
· Process payroll alongside the HR team, and the external payroll company
· Manage expense claims and petty cash processes
· Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes
· Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
· Assist with annual budget preparation and quarterly reviews
· Analyse financial performance and provide insights to senior management
· Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
· Support VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements
· Assist with financial aspects of training program costing and pricing

Additional Responsibilities

· Maintain relationships with external accountants, auditors, and banking partners
· Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
· Assist with financial due diligence for new business opportunities
· Contribute to process improvements and system implementations
· Provide financial training and support to other departments as needed
