Accountant, Harrogate, £35,000-£45,000
An established, owner-managed professional company based in Harrogate is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their friendly and collaborative team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within a growing business. You’ll work closely with the Directors and external Auditors, manage one direct report, and contribute to improving financial processes across the organisation.
This is a full-time position offering hybrid working (one day per week from home). Slightly reduced hours can also be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
*Day-to-day bookkeeping
*Bank reconciliations
*Processing and paying invoices
*Chasing customer payments
*Submitting quarterly VAT returns
*Implementing new finance processes and procedures to improve efficiency
*Liaising with external auditors (who manage payroll, year-end accounts and tax)
Requirements
*Previous accountancy experience within an SME
*Strong IT skills (experience with Xero highly desirable)
*Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
*Team player with a collaborative approach
