They supply into blue chip companies within the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, biomedical, retail and hospitality industries.
Description
Our client are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and proactive Technical Sales Executive to generate new business growth through consultation and prospecting. This role is focused not just on winning business, but on understanding client challenges, offering tailored solutions, and building trust-based partnerships to sustain long-term success. There will be an element of support for inbound sales activity when required.
The ideal candidate is a natural communicator with strong commercial acumen, skilled in listening, qualifying client needs, and growing relationships with customers who require compliant packaging for the safe transportation of hazardous materials across road, air and sea.
New Business Development (Proactive Sales)
*Develop and grow new business. Positioning the company as a trusted advisor and supplier of packaging products and services, including compliance support and packaging test lab facilities
*Proactively identify and target new business opportunities to prospective clients through research, networking, referrals and outbound engagement. Develop and deliver outbound campaigns. Working to targets.
*Conduct consultative discovery meetings to understand clients’ requirements, challenges, and operational requirements. Understanding key dynamics and client decision-making processes.
*Facilitating Calls, Emails, Teams meetings and face to face customer visits and presentations where relevant
Technical, Compliance and Regulatory adherence
*Develop in-depth knowledge of dangerous good packaging regulations that meet international dangerous goods transport regulations.
*Adhere to regulations and procedures. Interpret regulations and communicate confidently the applicable solutions
*Provide technical advice and expert guidance
*Conduct product demonstrations, packaging audits and training where necessary
Collaboration & Reporting:
*Work collaboratively with Technical Sales Team, Product and Operations teams to implement solutions and ensure a seamless customer experience
*Coordinate with Marketing to support lead conversion and sales campaigns
*Maintain accurate records of all inbound and outbound activities using CRM
*Inbound Sales Support
*Provide support for inbound Technical Sales Team when required
*Qualify enquiries, guide customers through product selection based on their specific compliance needs.
*Convert inbound enquiries into active, recurring business
Profile
You will receive extensive internal and external training on our products and dangerous goods regulations. Once the training period is complete, your knowledge and experience will be strengthened further by the handling of inbound sales inquiries and a range of key customers initially. A successful Technical Sales Executive should have:
*Proven experience in consultative B2B sales, ideally in packaging, logistics, or a regulated industry
*Demonstrated success generating new business proactively and developing long term client relationships
*Technical acumen with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions
*Excellent communication, listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
*Self-driven/motivated with a proactive approach to generating leads, building the business with a focus on results
*Ability to work independently and with others
*Organised with a focus on continuous learning
*Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Systems
*Drivers Licence (some travel required)
