Job Description:
Butler Rose are representing a well-established and friendly firm in the countryside outskirts near Knottingley who are seeking a part-time (c25hrs p/w) Payroll Manager on a fixed term contract basis that has the potential to go permanent!
This is a great opportunity to work in an autonomous role within a stable payroll department providing a supportive environment, running payrolls Brightpay both weekly and monthly.
If you are an experienced payroll professional with solid end to end payroll processing inhouse or possess bureau/practice experience, seeking flexibility alongside autonomy, this could be the right opportunity for you!
The Role
You will take ownership running payrolls up to 300 employees monthly and weekly, therefore you should be experienced and competent in running both small and large volume payrolls.
Responsibilities include:
End-to-end weekly and monthly payroll processing via Brightpay (training can be provided)
Auto-enrolment pension submissions
CIS submissions
SSP/SMP statutory calculations
Holiday pay/Payroll journals
RTI submissions
Maintaining up-to-date payroll legislation knowledge
Managing and building strong relationships both over the telephone and email
This is an autonomous role requiring confidence, accuracy and strong organisational skills.
About You
Proven payroll experience within an inhouse payroll/practice/Bureau environment
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
Experience using Brightpay (preferred)
Highly organised, excellent attention to detail
Comfortable working independently
Professional and confident communicating with HMRC, payroll queries, colleagues etc
Salary & Benefits
c£30,000 - £35,000 (FTE) pro rata
Working 5 hrs per day over 5 days Monday to Friday (office based) = 25 hours per week. Flexible start and finish times available
