Job Description:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and forward-thinking educational organisation seeking a Procurement & Supply Specialist to join their Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement or purchasing professional looking to take ownership of day-to-day procurement operations within a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient purchasing processes, strong supplier performance, and effective inventory and supply management across the organisation.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing procurement activity across multiple departments, ensuring value for money while maintaining strong financial controls and compliance with internal procedures.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Managing day-to-day purchasing and procurement activities
*Researching and sourcing suppliers, products, and services
*Running quotation exercises and supporting supplier negotiations
*Raising and tracking purchase orders in line with procurement procedures
*Matching and reconciling purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices
*Supporting timely supplier payments through accurate documentation
*Monitoring supplier performance, pricing, and service delivery
*Administering purchasing through procurement platforms such as Amazon Business
*Supporting tender processes and supplier due diligence activities
*Providing procurement advice and guidance to departmental budget holders
*Assisting with the development and improvement of procurement policies and procedures
About You
You are looking for a highly organised and commercially aware procurement professional who enjoys working collaboratively and delivering efficient operational processes.
You will ideally have:
*Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations
*Strong understanding of purchase order and invoice reconciliation processes
*Experience managing supplier relationships and sourcing activities
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*Confidence working with finance systems and procurement platforms
*Strong communication skills with the ability to support non-procurement stakeholders
*Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
*Experience within education, public sector, or regulated environments (desirable)
