Location: Braintree, Essex
Contract: 4 Months (Temporary)
Hours: Full-Time – 37 Hours per Week
Pay Rate: £22.00 per hour (PAYE) | £28.17 per hour (Umbrella)
Seven Resourcing are recruiting for an Operations Delivery Manager (Waste Implementation) to support a major waste service transformation project in Braintree, Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced waste management professional with strong operational leadership, project management, and logistics experience.
Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will be required to work fully on-site initially, based at Causeway House and Lakes Industrial Park.
This position will play a key role in preparing Waste Services for the Government’s Simpler Recycling changes, ensuring effective implementation across residential and commercial collections.
The Role
As an Operations Delivery Manager, you will coordinate multiple operational projects to support changes across Waste Management services, including the distribution of bins and caddies to over 60,000 properties, as well as bulk waste collections for businesses and schools.
You will provide strong operational leadership, ensure compliance with statutory regulations, and oversee service improvements to deliver efficient, customer-focused waste operations.
Key Responsibilities
*Coordinate and manage multiple waste service implementation projects
*Develop, monitor, and review project scopes, schedules, and budgets
*Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Operator’s Licence and Health & Safety legislation
*Lead operational teams including managers, team leaders, drivers, and loaders
*Oversee high-quality, customer-focused waste and recycling services
*Review and improve existing waste management processes to enhance efficiency
*Support the rollout of new recycling and waste collection changes
*Build collaborative relationships across departments and with stakeholders
*Provide clear communication and regular updates to senior management
*Drive continuous improvement and deliver measurable service efficiencies
Essential Requirements
*Relevant degree or professional qualification
*Experience delivering operational services within waste management, logistics, or transport
*Strong project management and process development experience
*Knowledge of waste services, vehicles, and logistics operations
*Experience leading teams and managing service performance
*Strong understanding of health and safety legislation
*Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
*Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
*Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
