Commercial Vehicle Technician (Level 3) – Engineering & Fleet Services
Location: Barnet
Contract: 12 Weeks (Temporary)
Hours: 36 per week
Pay Rate: £21.24 per hour PAYE or £27.69 per hour Umbrella
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for a Level 3 Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a busy Engineering & Fleet Services team in Barnet. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV/LCV technician with strong diagnostic and repair skills looking for a stable, full-time role within a professional workshop environment.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in commercial vehicle maintenance, fleet servicing, MOT preparation, and heavy vehicle diagnostics.
The Role – Commercial Vehicle Technician (Level 3)
As a Commercial Vehicle Technician, you will carry out inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a range of fleet vehicles including HGVs, LCVs, and specialist municipal vehicles. You will ensure all work is completed to manufacturer standards and in line with DVSA and health & safety regulations.
You will play a key role in maintaining vehicle safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
*Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on commercial vehicles
*Carry out diagnostics, fault finding, and mechanical/electrical repairs
*Prepare vehicles for MOT inspection and ensure roadworthiness compliance
*Repair braking systems, suspension, steering, engines, and transmission systems
*Complete inspection sheets and service documentation accurately
*Ensure compliance with DVSA standards and workshop safety procedures
*Support fleet uptime by delivering high-quality and timely repairs
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this Commercial Vehicle Technician job in Barnet, you must have:
*NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
*Proven experience working on HGVs, LCVs, or fleet vehicles
*Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and repair techniques
*Understanding of MOT preparation standards and compliance requirements
*Ability to work independently and within a team workshop environment
