Job Description:
A prestigious College in Central Cambridge is seeking a professional and highly organised Admissions Assistant to provide administrative support to its Admissions team.
This is a 6-month temporary position, working 37.5 hours per week. A blend of office and home working will be offered and agreed with management.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Education Services and working closely with the Admissions Coordinator and Admissions Tutor, you will support both undergraduate and postgraduate admissions processes. You will be part of a collaborative team, ensuring that applicants and offer holders receive a professional and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities
*Contact applicants and offer holders by phone and email
*Maintain accurate applicant and offer holder records, including receiving and checking documentation using internal databases
*Schedule interviews, check timetables, and send interview invitations
*Create and maintain student records on the College database and track admissions decisions
*Assist with preparing offer letters and related correspondence
*Support pre- and post-interview administration
*Respond to enquiries regarding undergraduate and postgraduate admissions procedures
*Handle general enquiries by phone, email, and in person
*Provide general administrative support to the Admissions Office as required
About You
You will be an experienced administrator with strong customer service skills and excellent attention to detail. You will demonstrate:
*Strong IT skills, including MS Office, Outlook, and web browsers
*Experience using databases and internal systems
*Administrative experience within a customer-focused role
*The ability to quickly learn and retain new information
*Sensitivity and professionalism when dealing with a diverse range of people
*Calmness and patience under pressure
*A strong team-oriented approach
*The ability to handle confidential information appropriately
