Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Fakenham
Salary: £35,000–£42,000

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a small, friendly company specialising in bespoke lifting equipment with an international client base. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of projects, work closely with clients, and contribute to the continuous improvement of innovative products.

The Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
*Developing customised products based on customer requirements.
*Creating overall design and assembly drawings.
*Producing detailed manufacturing drawings for in-house or external production.
*Generating BOMs for special projects and managing procurement as required.
*Liaising with customers to ensure designs meet their needs.
*Coordinating with the Workshop Supervisor to deliver projects on time.
*Contributing to the continuous improvement of existing products.
About You You will have:
*A solid background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in mechanisms, fabricated assemblies, and sheet metalwork.
*The ability to rapidly design customised variants from standard product ranges.
*Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Skills & Experience *Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD or similar design software.
*Proven ability to produce detailed manufacturing information accurately and on time.
*Understanding of relevant machinery standards and legislation.
*Experience working effectively as part of a small team.
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
