Senior Finance Officer
*Contract Type: 12-month contract
*Hours: Flexible (30–37 per week)
*Location: Cumbria, Hybrid options available
*Salary: £32,000 (pro-rata)

Day-to-day of the role:
Financial Operations
*Manage accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, income tracking, and petty cash.
*Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (e.g., Xero or similar).
*Prepare VAT returns and support payroll & pension processes.
*Monitor budgets, support forecasting, and assist managers with budget tracking.
*Prepare financial reports for internal use.
Additional Duties
*Support onboarding and maintain internal systems and records.
*Help oversee office operations, supplier contracts, and internal procedures.
*Maintain compliance logs (H&S, GDPR, insurance, policies).
*Assist with year-end processes and auditor queries.
*Provide administrative support to senior staff when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*AAT Level 3 (or equivalent).
*2+ years experience in a finance or finance-operations role.
*Strong bookkeeping and reconciliation skills.
*Confident with Excel.
*Experience using Xero (or similar accounting software).
*Exposure to audit processes.
