This Assistant Accountant role is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing finance team within a rapidly expanding, technology driven PLC environment. Based in Glasgow, this position provides strong exposure to month end reporting, purchase ledger management, audit preparation, and the wider finance cycle. It is ideal for someone looking to advance their accounting career.


Key Responsibilities (Assistant Accountant)In this Assistant Accountant position, you will be responsible for core accounting and finance operations, including:
*Full responsibility for end to end Purchase Ledger processing
*Managing invoice approvals via automated finance systems
*Preparing mid month and month end payment runs
*Overseeing supplier, contractor, and employee expense payments
*Supporting month end close activities
*Completing bank reconciliations
*Posting journals, prepayments, and accruals
*Monitoring daily cash balances and cashflow
*Supporting external audit preparation
*Daily cash reporting
*Participating in weekly continuous improvement and finance transformation meetings


Ideal Candidate ProfileWe are flexible on background. The priority is attitude, potential, and alignment with team culture.
You may be:
*A graduate with a Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics degree
*Early in your finance career with Assistant Accountant or Purchase Ledger experience
*Ambitious, analytical, and keen to pursue professional accountancy qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA)
