Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + benefits
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established geotechnical and geoenvironmental consultancy in Manchester. This role offers the chance to work on a wide range of commercial, residential and infrastructure projects across the North West, with a strong focus on technical delivery and client-facing responsibilities.
This position is ideal for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer ready to step into a senior role with increased involvement in design, reporting and project management.
The Role*Managing geotechnical projects from initial enquiry through to completion

*Planning and overseeing ground investigations

*Detailed soil and rock logging in accordance with current standards

*Interpreting ground investigation data and producing factual and interpretative reports

*Undertaking geotechnical design (foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, earthworks)

*Liaising directly with clients, contractors and regulators

*Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development

*Assisting with fee proposals and tender submissions

Requirements*Degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline

*5+ years’ experience within a geotechnical consultancy

*Strong report writing and interpretative skills

*Experience with foundation design and geotechnical assessments

*Good understanding of UK standards and guidance

*Full UK Driving Licence
