Job Description:
Project Co-ordinator
Location: Home-based | Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire
Contract: 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (potential extension to Summer 2029, subject to funding)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
The Role
Burton Recruitment is working exclusively with a well-established national organisation to appoint an LSIP Co-ordinator on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is a home-based position requiring the successful candidate to be located within the Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire region.
The role sits within a dedicated project team and supports the delivery of Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) across three designated areas. Working in close collaboration with LSIP Project Managers, the post-holder will provide project coordination, event support, stakeholder engagement and administrative delivery across a complex, multi-partner programme.
Please note: this role involves travel within the Midlands approximately one day per week and may require occasional early morning or evening availability to support stakeholder engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the delivery of the LSIP 2026-2028 programme across three designated areas, working alongside Project Managers to ensure milestones are met.
*Maintain project documentation, trackers and risk registers, ensuring accuracy and version control throughout.
*Provide minute-taking support for LSIP Steering Group meetings.
*Coordinate and support structured engagement with employers, employer representative bodies, training providers and community partners.
*Assist with the planning and on-the-ground delivery of events across the East Midlands.
*Draft written communications, summaries and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
*Deliver prescribed elements of the LSIP communications plan across designated areas.
*Provide broader coordination and administrative support to the project team.
Person Specification
Essential:
*GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
*Demonstrable experience in project administration or coordination, ideally within a complex, multi-partner environment.
*Experience of working on grant-funded or publicly funded programmes.
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
*High standards of written and verbal communication, including the ability to draft professional reports and correspondence.
*Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and attention to detail.
*Full, valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Desirable:
*Understanding of local and regional economic development structures, such as LEPs, local authorities or devolution frameworks.
*Familiarity with the post-16 skills system or a demonstrable willingness to develop this knowledge quickly.
*Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation processes within funded project environments.
*Knowledge of the skills and business support environment.
Additional Information
This is a fully remote role; however, applicants must be based within the Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire region to support on-the-ground delivery in the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) area. The role requires travel within the Midlands approximately one day per week and flexibility to attend occasional early morning or evening engagements.
There is potential for this position to be extended through to Summer 2029, subject to the confirmation of additional programme funding.
