Job Description:
Information, Advice and Guidance Officer - In Work Support
*Hourly Pay: £17.18 PAYE
*Location: Sheffield (Hybrid working)
*Job Type: Interim/Full time hours
Join Opportunity Sheffield, part of Sheffield City Council’s Employment & Skills Service, which is expanding due to new funding. They are seeking an Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Officer to support individuals in sustaining, upskilling, or progressing within their employment. This role offers a chance to make a significant impact in a fast-paced employment or skills environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Provide impartial, professional information, advice, and guidance to participants accessing skills support.
*Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure high-quality support.
*Connect participants with opportunities that promote progression and enhance their employment pathway.
*Positively represent the service and programme offer.
*Demonstrate a strong understanding of programme requirements and contribute to delivery targets.
*Support the continuous improvement of employment and skills projects.
*Plan and manage workload effectively and efficiently.
*Identify and escalate risks or opportunities to programme managers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in a fast-paced employment or skills environment.
*Strong understanding of employment support programmes and their requirements.
*Ability to provide high-quality, impartial advice and guidance.
*Excellent collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
*Proven ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively.
*Strong communication and representation skills.
*Ability to identify and escalate relevant risks and opportunities.
