Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-focused Senior Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day running of a busy finance function. This is a key role responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, financial administration and supporting accurate financial reporting.
This opportunity is ideal for a proactive finance professional with strong payroll expertise and solid general accounts office experience who thrives in a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities*Manage and process end-to-end payroll, including starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, statutory payments and deductions
*Administer PAYE, pensions and ensure compliance with HMRC and National Minimum Wage legislation
*Prepare payroll reports and post payroll journals to the finance system
*Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records
*Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports
*Manage the debtors ledger and assist with credit control
*Process purchase invoices, staff expenses, BACS and ad hoc payments
*Maintain petty cash and post cash receipts
*Complete month-end procedures including journals and key reconciliations
*Maintain general ledger records and assist with bank reconciliations
*Assist with year-end processes and audit requirements
*Respond to finance and payroll queries and support ongoing improvements to financial systems and processes
About You*AAT Level 3/4 (or equivalent experience)
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance role
*Significant in-house payroll processing experience
*Confident preparing accounts to trial balance stage
*Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
*Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally
