Location: Swindon (Hybrid – Civic Campus, Euclid Street)
Contract: 12 Weeks Temporary
Hours: 37 hours per week

*PAYE: £120 per day
*Umbrella/Ltd: £162.11 per day

Ribble Recruitment is assisting a public sector organisation with the recruitment of an Access to Information Officer on a temporary basis. We are managing candidate sourcing, screening, and the initial stages of the recruitment process on behalf of the hiring organisation.
The RoleThis role sits within the Legal Services / Information Governance function and will support the organisation in meeting its statutory obligations under the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and Freedom of Information Act 2000.
The successful candidate will primarily support with Subject Access Requests (SARs), including document review, redaction, and case management, while assisting the Information Governance team with FOI and EIR requests.
This is a backlog-reduction role, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to process large volumes of information within statutory deadlines.
Key Responsibilities*Conduct document review and redaction of personal data for Subject Access Requests.
*Assist with the logging, coordination and processing of SAR, FOI and EIR requests.
*Prepare draft responses using established templates and processes.
*Identify potential exemptions, risks or complex cases and escalate where appropriate.
*Maintain accurate records, audit trails and case management updates.
*Provide administrative and operational support to the Information Governance team.
*Manage inboxes, document filing and information handling tasks.
*Handle sensitive or distressing information in line with organisational protocols.
*Support the promotion of good information governance practices across services.
Requirements*Minimum 3 years’ experience handling personal data, redaction or casework in a regulated environment.
*Knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and FOI legislation.
*Strong attention to detail and ability to review large volumes of documentation.
*Excellent written communication skills.
*Ability to manage workload against statutory deadlines.
*Comfortable working with sensitive and confidential information.
Working ArrangementsThis is a hybrid role with a mixture of office presence and remote working. The role is based at Civic Campus, Euclid Street, Swindon.
