Education Solicitor/Associate/Senior Associate – Brighton, East Sussex - Hybrid working
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate /Senior Associate Private Client Solicitor to join a highly regarded Tier 1 Legal 500 ranked Private Client Advisory team based in Brighton, with hybrid working options available. This role offers the chance to work with a collaborative and high-performing team advising high-net-worth individuals and families.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
You will manage a varied and complex caseload, advising families, schools and education-related organisations on a broad range of matters, including:
*SEND Tribunal appeals (primary focus)
*Upper Tribunal appeals
*School exclusions and admissions
*Disability Discrimination Act cases
*Complaints to Local Authorities, LGO and school governing bodies
*Education-related Judicial Reviews
*Safeguarding and education law advice for schools and colleges
*SEN strategy advice and EHCP health checks
*Community Care matters linked to education cases
*Handling both privately and publicly funded work
*Supervising junior colleagues and carrying out file reviews
*Building relationships with key stakeholders to drive new instructions
*Writing and delivering seminars to charities and education organisations
*Producing education law articles and case reviews
About You:
You will have:
*2-8 years’ PQE as a Qualified Solicitor
*Strong expertise in education law, particularly SEND Tribunal work
*Confidence managing a diverse caseload with minimal supervision
*A collaborative, supportive approach to mentoring junior team members
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*A proactive attitude towards business development and networking
