Technical Manager

Join our dynamic team as a Technical Manager, supporting a retail. This role is crucial for managing and ensuring that the client’s technical requirements are met in accordance with our service provision model.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Jointly achieve the sales budgets for the service provision.
*Provide technical expertise in top fruit to guide and progress the business.
*Lead on berry development and associated customer projects including new varieties, packaging, source, and grower development.
*Support the technical admin team to compile Due Diligence to meet the needs of the client and our service provision responsibilities.
*Undertake grower visits and select farm audits as required.
*Support the client’s Ethical and Sustainability agenda.
*Assist the technical team in managing procedures, processes, and legality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Extensive knowledge in fresh produce
*Broad compliance knowledge including Food Safety, Health & Safety, Customer Policies, Sustainability, and supplier approval (Due Diligence).
*Trained in Select Farm audit, Health & Safety, HACCP, and BRC.
*Familiar with industry-relevant audit and compliance standards (Red Tractor & Leaf).
*Ability to build strong working relationships with growers and colleagues.
*Knowledge of sustainability, carbon accounting (M2030), WRAP (water & waste), and responsible sourcing (scope 3).
*Logical thinker with a flexible approach, open to new ways of operating and able to adapt to an evolving business.
*Organised, logical, and correct approach to work tasks with good administration skills.
*Confident in using Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
*Excellent communication skills.
