ER OFFICER – Organisational Change (Public Sector)
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive ER Officer to support a major organisational change programme within the public sector. This role is fast-paced, highly detailed, and requires someone with strong administrative experience and the ability to manage sensitive processes with accuracy and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Organisational Change Support
*Provide day-to-day operational support to a large-scale organisational change programme.
*Maintain accurate records, documentation, tracking logs, and programme timelines.
*Support staff communications, coordination of activities, and preparation of change documentation.
*Liaise with internal stakeholders to support smooth delivery of programme milestones.
*Manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Appeals
*Manage the full process when an employee formally challenges a decision (e.g., disciplinary outcomes, grievance decisions etc).
*Log, acknowledge, schedule, and coordinate appeals, ensuring cases are heard by the correct manager.
*Prepare timelines, documentation, and evidence packs.
*Ensure processes follow organisational policies and maintain procedural fairness.
Employment Tribunal (ET) Claims
*Support the organisation’s response to Employment Tribunal claims.
*Coordinate key documentation including case records, investigation notes, correspondence, and witness statements.
*Liaise with internal and external legal advisors.
*Track and meet strict ET deadlines.
*Support managers and HR colleagues in preparation for hearings.
Employee Relations (ER) Casework Support
*Assist with complex or sensitive ER issues, including disputes, complaints, conflict, or potential legal risk.
*Provide accurate guidance to line managers on policy steps and procedural requirements.
*Ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance with employment law and organisational policies.
*Help manage and mitigate risks that could escalate into grievances, appeals, or tribunal claims.
Essential Skills & Experience
*Strong, proven administrative experience in a busy and fast-paced environment (non-negotiable).
*Excellent organisational and coordination skills with exceptional attention to detail.
*Ability to manage competing priorities in a pressured environment.
*Strong communication skills and confidence handling sensitive information.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR/administrative systems.
Desirable Experience
*Experience in ER / organisational change, ideally within the public sector.
*Background supporting ER, appeals, or tribunal processes.
