Hays are working with a high-achieving, well-established primary school in South Coventry. This two-form-entry school is known for its strong academic outcomes, well-structured curriculum and supportive leadership team. Staff describe it as a purposeful and well-organised environment where expectations are high, teamwork is valued and pupils are encouraged to aim for excellence.
The school are looking for an experienced Year 6 teacher to join them after Easter and remain until the end of the academic year. This is a full-time role with full teaching responsibilities, though part-time may be considered for the right candidate.
Your new role
*Delivering well-planned, focused lessons that prepare pupils for end-of-Key-Stage assessments and their transition to secondary school.
*Working closely with the Year 6 team to ensure consistency in planning, assessment and intervention.
*Providing targeted support to pupils who may need additional guidance to achieve their potential.
*Monitoring progress, maintaining accurate assessment records and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues.
*Contributing to the wider school community and modelling professionalism and high expectations.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*Experience teaching in upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
*Strong behaviour management and the ability to motivate pupils during a crucial stage of their education.
*Secure curriculum knowledge and confidence delivering high-quality teaching.
*Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
