Technical Manager
*Location: Glenrothes
*Job Type: Full-time
*Salary: Circa £45,000

We are seeking a Technical Manager responsible for overseeing the Quality, Safety, Legality, and Integrity of crops supplied from our grower farms and packing facilities to various customers including retail and business-to-business. This role is crucial in maintaining our high standards and ensuring compliance with all relevant accreditations and legislation.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Inform relevant managers of any deviation from Quality Assurance procedures, assisting in remedial actions as required.
*Implement and maintain technical and QA policies and procedures across grower farms and packhouses.
*Assist growers in meeting and maintaining customer specifications and procedures.
*Maintain product traceability from field to customer.
*Keep company documentation up to date for accreditation, compliance, and audit requirements.
*Approve growers for supply by monitoring compliance and escalating issues as necessary.
*Ensure all relevant documentation is correct and available for grower and factory use.
*Manage communications with growers, customers, and internal partners, addressing day-to-day quality issues and specification compliance.
*Conduct internal audits against BRC and retailer standards.
*Prepare packing sites for technical audits, both announced and unannounced.
*Manage the Independent Product Testing programme, covering pesticide residue and microbiological testing.
*Complete, monitor, and trend technical data to ensure continuous improvement.
*Resolve issues constructively and embrace new opportunities that benefit the business.
*Adapt to changes in working practices and manage resources accordingly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in a similar role within the agriculture or related industry.
*Strong understanding of BRC/Retailer/Organic accreditation and supermarket audit requirements.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage relationships with various stakeholders.
*Ability to lead and teach, enhancing technical capabilities across grower bases and packing sites.
*Competence in managing compliance and quality assurance procedures.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a management team.
*Leadership skills and the ability to implement company leadership behaviours in day-to-day roles.
