Job Description:
Accounts Assistant – Full-Time
Salary: £27,500
Location: North Liverpool, office based
A well-established organisation is seeking a detail-driven Accounts Assistant to support its finance function and wider office operations. This role will suit someone with strong numerical accuracy, excellent organisational abilities, and previous experience in an accounts-focused administrative role.
You’ll work closely with the finance team to ensure the smooth running of daily accounting activities, payroll processing, and financial record management.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts & Finance Duties (Primary Focus)
*Input, verify and maintain purchase invoices using Sage 50, ensuring all entries are accurate and supported by appropriate documentation.
*Match supplier invoices to delivery notes and investigate any discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records.
*Carry out regular supplier account reconciliations and follow up on outstanding queries.
*Produce weekly payroll information, ensuring employee hours and pay details are processed correctly to support timely payments.
*Monitor customer accounts and follow up on overdue payments to support healthy cashflow.
*Prepare financial spreadsheets and routine reports for management, ensuring data is clear, organised and up-to-date.
*Reconcile company credit card transactions and maintain supporting records.
Office & Administrative Support
*Respond to incoming calls in a professional manner and direct enquiries efficiently.
*Manage incoming emails and provide timely support to customers, staff and suppliers.
*Maintain organised filing systems, both digitally and physically, ensuring information is accessible and accurate.
*Support the office team with general administrative tasks and assist senior staff with ad hoc duties as required.
*Coordinate internal meetings and ensure arrangements are prepared in advance.
Skills & Experience Required
*Hands-on experience using Sage 50 (minimum 1 year).
*Solid background in administration or accounts support.
*Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Strong IT proficiency, including Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint.
*Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial data.
*Ability to prioritise tasks and stay organised in a fast-paced environment.
