Job Description:
SEN Teaching Assistant
*Location: Northfield, Birmingham
*Weekly Pay: £480 - £500
*Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (term time only)
*Start Date: ASAP
*Contract: Long-term, Temp-to-Perm
Long Term Futures is seeking a caring and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Northfield. The role involves supporting pupils in Early Years and Key Stage One with Autism Spectrum Disorder , Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You will be joining a supportive team committed to providing every child the best support possible. This role is offered on a Long Term Basis with the potential to become permanent.
What the school is looking for:
*Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) or a relevant degree.
*Experience: Previous experience working in a school or preschool environment.
*Skills: Confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, with an understanding of ASD, SLCN, SEMH or non-verbal communication.
*Knowledge: Understanding of the EYFS framework and awareness of sensory regulation and therapeutic support strategies.
