We are looking for a Design Support Technician to join our UK Design Support team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical and electrical background who enjoys working on system design, technical drawings, and supporting both internal teams and customers.
You will play a key role in developing design drawings and specifications for a range of systems including CCTV, Fire Alarms, Access Control, Disabled Refuge and Emergency Voice Systems.
This position offers the chance to work within a collaborative technical team while supporting our sales teams and customers with high-quality system designs and technical expertise.


Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Support
*Develop system designs from customer specifications and fire strategies
*Produce detailed design specifications and supporting documentation
*Carry out technical calculations to validate system designs
*Convert system designs into CAD drawings and Relux layouts
*Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards and codes of practice
Customer & Internal Support
*Provide technical product support on CCTV, fire alarms, access control and related systems
*Respond to customer design enquiries and support the sales teams
*Attend site surveys and customer meetings when required
*Contribute to O&M manuals and project documentation
Team Collaboration
*Maintain up-to-date information within the team workflow schedule
*Participate in the design rota for booking commissioning engineers
*Support the wider design team to ensure projects are delivered efficiently


Skills & Experience Required
*Strong technical / electrical background
*Previous experience designing fire and emergency lighting systems
*Experience with CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control or Voice Systems
*Experience using CAD and Relux
*Understanding of relevant British Standards
Desirable qualifications:
*BS 5839 Part 1 & 6
*BS 5266
*BS 5839-9
*FIA training or similar industry certifications
