Financial AccountantSalary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE)
Location: Site-based (flexible working up to 2 days post-probation)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
The OpportunityAn established and growing business is looking to appoint a hands-on Financial Accountant to oversee transactional finance operations and manage a small finance team.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this is a varied and responsible role offering genuine ownership, team leadership, and involvement in a future ERP system migration project.
This position would suit a proactive, organised finance professional who enjoys improving processes and taking accountability for financial controls.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Control*Cash and banking management, including cashflow reporting

*Sales ledger control including credit control, credit limits and invoice discounting

*Purchase ledger oversight, VAT control and cost reporting

*Nominal ledger control including month-end journals and reporting

*Expense and company credit card control

*Year-end audit coordination

Team Management*Managing two Accounts Assistants (Sales and Purchase Ledger)

*Supporting and developing team members

*Liaising closely with department managers across the business

Projects & Improvements*Supporting an ERP system migration project

*Identifying and implementing process improvements

*Providing ad-hoc financial support where required

About You*AAT / ACCA / CIMA qualified, part-qualified, relevant degree or QBE

*Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

*Experience managing or mentoring junior finance staff

*Confident communicator across departments

*Self-motivated with strong problem-solving ability

*Proficient in Microsoft Office

Package*£35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience

*5% employer pension contribution

*6-month probation

*6-month notice period post-probation

*Flexible working considered (maximum 2 days from home after probation; preference is site-based)
