Overview
A small, friendly and well-established business just outside of Tunbridge Wells is looking for a NEW Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. Working closely with the Financial Controller, this position plays an important role in the day-to-day running of the finance function. A warm, welcoming and collaborative environment with genuine flexibility and autonomy.
This role is part-time, working 3 days per week, 8am to 2pm (18 hours).
Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications.
Duties
*Overseeing invoice processing, authorisation and payment runs
*Assisting with credit control and debtor follow up where required
*Preparing prepayments and accruals
*Supporting with month-end journals
*Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
*Helping maintain accurate and up to date general ledger postings
*Supplier statement reconciliations and resolving supplier queries
*Bank, credit card and petty cash reconciliations
*Posting daily bank transactions
*Assisting with preparation of quarterly VAT returns
*Processing staff expenses
*Supporting cashflow forecasting
*Assisting the Financial Controller with ad hoc analysis and project work
What we’re looking for
A successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate solid experience in a similar role, with confidence handling month-end tasks, reconciliations and hands-on accounts work. You must live within a 45 minute commute of Tunbridge Wells and have access to your own vehicle.
