A well-established and growing industrial manufacturer is looking for an experienced Senior Production Manager to lead production operations at their factory in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist manufacturing business, part of a global engineering group, supplying critical industries including aerospace, energy and heavy engineering.
This role offers real influence across operations, safety, productivity and continuous improvement within a technically advanced manufacturing environment.
As Senior Production Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for the day-to-day performance of production operations, ensuring processes run safely, efficiently and in line with business objectives. You’ll lead multiple teams across production functions while driving improvements in yield, productivity and operational performance.
You’ll work closely with engineering, operations and leadership teams to ensure equipment reliability, optimise processes and support long-term growth of the site.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Production Manager include:
*Lead and manage production operations, including direct management of Shift Managers & Team Leaders
*Champion health, safety, wellbeing and environmental compliance across the production departments
*Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and minimise waste
*Develop and monitor KPIs focused on process improvement and operational efficiency
*Manage departmental budgets and contribute to strategic CAPEX planning
*Ensure accurate stock management and production accountability
*Support people management processes including performance reviews, training and return-to-work interviews
*Work collaboratively with engineering teams to maximise equipment uptime and process performance
We’re looking for experience Production Managers with the below skills & experience:
*Strong experience in manufacturing operations leadership, ideally within heavy manufacturing or process environments
*Proven track record managing production teams and improving operational performance
*Solid understanding of health & safety and environmental compliance (IOSH or equivalent desirable)
*Analytical mindset and somebody who is data driven
*Excellent leadership, planning and organisational skills
*Good IT skills and financial awareness
*A proactive, forward-thinking leader with a hands-on approach to problem solving
